17. Obituary: York Daily: Death Summons Him On His Natal Day on 6 Dec 1909 in York, York, PA. 10 Parris Beecher, Inmate of Almshouse, Died at Age of 81 Years, a Victim of Apoplexy.

On the dawn of the 83d anniversary of his brithday, Parris E. Beecher, an inmate of the almshouse since last May, was found dead in bed by his room mate yesterday morning at 5:30 o'clock. Coronoer J. E. Dehoff, who was notified, places the time of his death as 4:30 a. m. and the cause to be due to apoplexy.
A slight injury which the deceased received Saturday night while on a visit to the Jackson moving picture show is not thought to have had any bearing on the cause of death. Saturday night the deceased visited the moving picture house, and as he was leaving he slipped down an incline, striking a door, which as he straightened up, it is said, flew back and struck him in the face.
Returning to the almshouse his room mate heard him get in bed and later in the ngiht he got up, but came back to bed. A short time later he was heard to snore, this was an usual thing for him to do, it is stated, but the man sleeping at his side thought nothing of it. It was probably the heavy breathing accompanying apoplexy. When he awoke at 5:30 his room mate, known as "Uncle Harry," discovered Beecher to be dead.
There were no marks on his head where it had been struck by the door of the picture show, and Coroner Dehoff considered an inquest unnecessary.
