He was born in Detroit Michigan on December 13, 1924. He grew up in Williamsport Indiana moving to Lafayette in 1957.

He graduated in 1943 from School of the Deaf in Indianapolis Indiana. He was in obitstenance at National Homes Corporation for 37 years.

He married Beulah Shipman in Danville Illinois on June 28, 1957 and she preceded him on February 21, 1993. He then married Carolyn Lively in 1995 and she survives. He was a member of the Elston Heights Baptist Church and a member of the Monticello Deaf Club.

Surviving are a daughter Eva Farrell (husband Steve) of Lafayette.

He is preceded by his parents James E and Eva Richie Sayers. Surviving are a Grandson Dustin M. Morris and A Great Grandson Warren A. Morris.
