He was born July 16, 1934, in Bluffton to Clair and Frieda Bame Bucher. His father survives in Bluffton. His mother preceded him in death. On Oct. 3, 1954, he married Doris Niswander, who survives.
Mr. Bucher retired as sales manager from E.M. Products, Bloomington, Minn. He was a member of English Lutheran Church, Bluffton. He was a member of the Kiwanis, Bluffton, and was an umpire for church softball. He was a graduate of Bluffton High School. He was a fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Bluffton Pirates. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors also include a son, Michael (Cindy) Bucher of Findlay; four
daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Dye, Chris (Brad) Setzer and Cheryl (Mark) Sommers, all of Bluffton, and Connie (David) Davis of Celina; a brother, Tom (Anne) Bucher of Gahanna; a brother-in-law, Wayne Wilch of Bluffton; a sister, Linda (Roger) Augsburger of Bluffton; and 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Wilch.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at English Lutheran Church, Bluffton. The Rev. Kevin Mohr will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton. Memorial contributions may be made to English Lutheran Church.
