Beecher, 31, born in Illinois; grandson George W., 6, born in Ohio; grandson Walter H., 3, born in Pennsylvania; and granddaughter Mary E., 5, born in Pennsylvania. E.R.'s father was born in Connecticut and mother in Vermont. Martha's parents were born in Pennsylvania. The grandchildren's father was born in New York and mother in Illinois.

2. Census in 1900 in Warren, Warren, PA. ³ The 1900 census recorded renting at 208 Jackson Street: Asher G. Beecher, book agent, 58, born Nov 1842 in New York, living with wife Martha M., 51, born Jan 1849 in Illinois; son George W., compositer, 27, born Aug 1873 in Ohio; and four children born in Pennsylvania: Mary E., dressmaker, 25, Jun 1875; Walter H., machinist, 23, Apr 1877; Ellen E., 17, Sep 1883; Eva M., 9, Jun 1891. Asher and Martha were married for 27 years and she had birthed 5 children by 1900, all alive. Asher's father was born in Connecticut and mother in Vermont. Martha's parents were born in Massachusetts.

5. Obituary: Corry Journal: George Beecher Succumbs at 86 on 27 Dec 1959 in Corry, Erie, PA. George W. Beecher of 62 East Congress street died at his home late Saturday afternoon following an illness of many years. He was 86.

Mr. Beecher was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 29, 1873. He lived in Warren, Pa., prior to moving to Corry in 1902, where he has lived since.

He was married on April 15, 1908 to Nellie Williams, who survives.

A printer by trade, Mr. Beecher worked for the Corry Evening Journal for 23 years. During World War II he was employed at the Corry Jamestown Corp., and General Printing for a short time.

He was an active member of the First Methodist Church of Corry, and secretary of the official board for 17 years. He was also active as a leader in the YMCA movement in Corry.

Besides his wife he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Clarence Held, Warren, Pa., Mrs. Frances Toyer, Santa Barbara, Calif., Mrs. Ellen Swavey, Bradford, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Bracken Funeral Home today and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Funeral services will be held there Wednesday at 2 p. m. Rev. George Myers and Rev. E. A. Ortner will officiate. Interment will be made in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
