5. Census in 1920 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA. 9 The 1920 census recorded owning a home at 724 Westmoreland Street: Edward Beecher, finisher in yarn mill, 45, living with wife Georganna, 44; John Beecher [indexed as Bucher], house builder, 24, single, nephew; Anna Beecher, telephone operator, 18, single, niece; sister-in-law Agnes Collville, cloth winder in cloth mill, 37, widowed; and Loretta Collville, niece, 10. Also in the home was boarder Joseph Clarke, 50. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania except Georganna in Ireland; she immigrated in 1885 and had become a U.S. citizen. [Note: the census taker erred. John Bucher is Edward's son, not nephew, and we assume Anna is his wife, since John's 1917 WWI draft registration indicates he was married and the 1910 census recorded his mother had birthed only 1 child, John, by 1910, ruling Anna out as his sister.].
