1. Census in 1930 in Muhlenberg, Berks, PA. 2 The 1930 census recorded owning a $5,500 home at 441 Raymond Street: John A. Chumure [sic], knitter in hosiery mill, 22, livng with wife Dorothea M., 25; and sons Carl J. 1 and 11 months; and Frederick R., 7 months when the census was recorded Apr 1930. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania, except John's parents were born in Germany.

2. Census in 1950 in Reading, Berks, PA. 3 The 1950 census recorded at 1129 Cotton Street: John Schmura, foreman inspector in auto frame manufacturing, 42, living with wife Dora, 45; sons Carl, capper in recapping tire garage, 21; Fred, 20, time clerk in auto frame manufacturing; and daughter Rita, 18. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

3. Obituary: Reading Eagle on 25 Jul 2006 in Reading, Berks, PA. 4 Fred R. Schmura, 76, husband of Joyce H. (Stackhouse) Schmura, Kenhorst, died July 24 in Reading Hospital.

Born in Mohton, he was a son of the late John and Dorothea (Bicher) Schmura.

Schmura was a retired toolmaker.

Hew as an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Schmura also is survived by two sons, Eric. F., husban of Pat L. (Gerhard) Schmura, Sinking Spring, and Kurt D., husband of Colleen M. (DeAntonio) Schumura, Mohnton.

Other survivors include as sister, Rita Seidel, St. Lawrence.

There are five grandchildren: Kimberly A. Schmura, Philadelphia; Jessica I. Schmura, Sinking Spring; Lucas R. Schmura and Stephanie B. Schmura, both of Mohnton; and Jamie L. Schmura, Sinking Spring.

He was predeceased by a brother, Carl Schmura.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Creamatorium Inc., 21 Chestnut St., Mohnton. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Berks County Inc., 1801 N. 11th St., Reading, PA 19604.
