Miss Marian Beecher and Missouri U. Football Player's Elopement Announced.
Miss Marian Beecher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Beecher of Kirkwood, and Houston M. Betty of Glendale, center on the University of Missouri football team, eloped Dec. 13 and were married at Springfield, Ill., it was announced yesterday. The bride is at her parents' home, 419 East Argonne drive, but plans to join her husband at Columbia, where he is a sophomore in the School of Engineering. Both are 20 years old and were classmates at Kirkwood High School. Betty, son of Mrs. C. W. Betty, 115 Cornelia avenue, expects to continue his studies. He was captain of the 1934 freshman team at the University of Missouri and won letters in football, baseball, track and wrestling at Kirkwood High School. His bride attended Washington University Art School last year. Her father is head of an advertising company.
