MILTON - Rosalie Beecher, 90, a guest of Kramm's Nursing Home in Milton, passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Kramm's.

She was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Terre Haute, Ind., a daughter of the late Samuel E. Sr. and Katharine (Swope) Beecher.

Rosalie worked as a legal secretary for her father and the Indiana State Drivers License Bureau for many years until her retirement.

She was a lifetime member of the Christian Science Church and a longtime member of the First Church of Christian Science in Terre Haute. Rosalie was also active in the Vigo County Republican Party.

After her retirement in 1986, she moved to Bradenton, Fla., until moving to Milton to reside with her niece, Roberta in 2007.

Rosalie is survived by two nieces and their spouses, Roberta and Rodney Brown, of Alabama, and Elizabeth and Mark Schultz, of Colorado; six great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great-grand-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Chief Warrant Officer Quentin Beecher; one brother, Samuel E. Beecher Jr., and one sister, Bettie Wright.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, in Woodlawn Cemetery, North Third St., Terre Haute.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Brady Funeral Home of Danville.

4. Obituary: Tribune-Star on 15 Sep 2013 in Terre Haute, Vigo, IN. ⁴ Rosalie Beecher, daughter of the late Samuel E. Beecher Sr. and Katharine (Swope) Beecher, peacefully passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, while a resident of Kramm Health and Rehab Center, Milton, Pa., at 90 years of age. Rosalie was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Terre Haute, Ind., where she lived the majority other life. Following graduation from Garfield High School, she embarked on an extensive secretarial and clerical career. For many years, she was legal secretary in her father's law office. During her years of employment, she also worked in the Vigo County Courthouse, the Indiana State License Bureau, and earned her Real Estate License. Following her retirement, Rosalie moved to Bradenton, Fla., where she continued to live until 2007. In 2007, she moved to Milton, Pa., to live with her niece and husband, Roberta and Rodney Brown.
Rosalie was a very active member of the Christian Science Church throughout her entire life. Most of her years were spent as a member of the Terre Haute Church, then in Bradenton, Fla. In addition to her religious activities, she was quite active in the Vigo County Republican Party in past years. While living in Bradenton, Rosalie enjoyed participating with friends and neighbors in her condominium association activities.
In addition to her parents, Rosalie was preceded in death by her brother, Samuel E. Beecher Jr.; sister, Bettie K. (Beecher) Wright; and nephew, CWO Quentin R. Beecher, U.S. Army. She is survived by two nieces, Roberta A. (Beecher) Brown and husband Rodney Brown, and Elizabeth K. (Beecher) Schultz and husband Mark Schultz. Additionally, she is survived by six great-nieces and nephews; and eight great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at DeBaun Funeral Home, 85 East Springhill Drive, in Terre Haute, Ind., on Friday Sept. 20, 2013, at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Burial will then follow at Woodlawn Cemetery on North Third Street.
