Mrs. Alex (Zagorski) Ackiewicz died at 7:15 o'clock this morning in her home at 325 West Lloyd street. She was the former Amelia Syrica.
Ailing the past month, she was removed to the Locust Mountain State Hospital three weeks ago. She was discharged last Saturday. Born in Poland, she came to Shenandoah early in life and made her home her ever since. Her first husband, Casimir Zagorski, died in 1922. Mrs. Ackiewicz was a member of St. Casimir's Church and various parish societies.
Surviving are four sons, Joseph Zagorski, local street foreman; Frank Zagorski, at home; Charles Zagorski, Hazleton: Peter Zagorski, of town; four daughters, Mrs. Richard Feeley, of town: Mrs. Chester Long, of Phoenix, Arizona; Miss Catherine Zagorski, at home, and Mrs. Robert Shaner, Chambersburg. She also leaves one brother, Frank Syrica, of Girardville; one sister, Mrs. Victoria Holonek, of town and six grandchildren.
The funeral will take place on Saturday from the home with services at 8:30 a.m. Solemn Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in St. Casimir's Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Viewing begins Thursday evening. Henry Walukiewicz is funeral director.
