Attending the groom were Douglas Bicher, best man; Nick Gaberial, Michael Noon, Terry Lehman and George Achey, ushers; and Brock Bender, ring bearer. The reception was held in Prescott Firehall. The couple will reside in Schaefferstown.

Bicher, who will serve through 1997 to complete Snyder's term, said he believes in what he called "the Republican philosophy of smaller government." "If we want a smaller federal government," he said, "more people are going to have to get involved on this level.", Bicher said he has not decided whether to run for a full term next year. Bicher already has served as a member of the borough's recreation board and now will be the council's representative on the board, said Ellsworth Troutman, Borough Council president. Bicher, a kitchen-furnishings salesman, said he was born and reared in Myerstown and has lived most of his life there.
