McClanahan, 45, living with his wife Frances, 40; Leonidas, 18; Frances, 14; Mortimer, 10; Howell, 6; William, 2; and Jane, 6 months. Also in the home listed apart at the end as if not their child is John McClanahan, 18. All were born in Tennessee except Thomas in South Carolina.

B., 12; daughter Jinny, 11; Josephine, 9; and William, 4. Everyone was born in Tennesee except J. T. in South Carolina. His real estate was worth $3500 and possessions $3958.

Two farms later on the page is A. N. McClanahan, farmer, 24, living with wife Nancy, 28; Mary M., 1; and brother Robert W. McClanahan, 22, farmer. Evernone was born in Tennessee. His real estate was worth $1500 and possessions $1090.

In 1840 Thomas McClanahan bought the lands of Mills Eason, which were adjoining to those of Jesse Eason. McClanahan married a sister of Jack and Howell Huddleston. The children of this union were: L. B., Mortimer, Lycurgus, Dee, "Dock", William; Josie, who married Kinzer; Xantippe, who married Burton Anderson; and Nellie. The sons of Thomas McClanahan, under the firm name of McClanahan Brothers, operated a cotton gin, tanyard, stillhouse, and sawmill south of the Columbia and Centerville Road, near the Stanfill old mill, about 1868.


John married Francis Huddleston, daughter of John W. Huddleston and Celia Adams. (Francis Huddleston was born about 1816 in , , TN.)
