11. Obituary: Pottsville Republican: obituary of John Chernosky on 14 Feb 1955 in Pottsville, Schuylkill, PA. 3 John Chernosky Sr., 73, died at his home, 255 Middle St., Minersville, Sunday evening. He had been ill for several weeks. Born in Lithuania, he came to this country 50 years ago, first settling in Philadelphia. He later lived in New Philadelphia. He had been a resident of Minersville most of his life. He was a member of St. Francis' Church. His wife, the former Mary Yuodis, died 17 years ago. Surviving are these children: John Jr. and Mrs. Anna Tamkunas, both at home; Anthony, Irvington, N. J.; Dorothy, wife of John Beicher, Lebanon; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Thursday morning from the John Dutcavich Funeral Home, 202 Sunbury St., Minersville. Mass will be in St. Francis Church and interment will be in the parish cemetery.


John married Mary Youdis, daughter of Michael Juozaitis and Mary Venzlauskaite, about 1906 in , Schuylkill, PA. (Mary Youdis was born on 25 Dec 1874 in , , , Lithuania,1 10 11 died on 20 Jan 1938 in Minersville, Schuylkill, PA 10 11 12 and was buried on 24 Jan 1938 in Minersville, Schuylkill, PA 10 11 12.)
