Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with the Rev. Brian Buterbaugh officiating. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rocky Ford Free Methodist Church in leiu of flowers.

He was born in Marion, Ohio, April 2, 1933. He married Shirley A. Moss in Columbus on September 22, 1953.

He retired in 1973 as a Staff Sergeant after 23 years of service in the U. S. Air Force at a TSGT, serving during the Korean War. He also served in the Indiana National Guard. Later, he worked for Indiana Bell as an engineer. He was a member of Toastmasters International. He had received the United Nations Service Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation-Republic of Korea ribbon, the Small Arms Expert Ribbon, the Longevity Service Ribbon with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, the national Defense Medal with 1 Bronze Star, the Japan Occupational Medal, the Army good Conduct Medal with 3 clasps, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Air Force Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf. Jon had served as a Meas. Equip. Technician and Instrument Maker grade II.

He is survived by his wife of Columbus; children, Debra (James) Grikas of Wisconsin and Charles I. Campbell and Elizabeth (Jeff) McCain, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Jamie (Christian) Brunel, Jody (Matthew) Becker, Jessie (James) Clark and Tyler Campbell, all of Wisconsin, and Blaise Campbell, Jill and Amanda McCain, all of Columbus and Jon Thompson of Southport.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen L. Beicher Krueger; and a son, Jon R. Campbell in 1978.
