Census in 1860 in Marion, Marion, OH. 16 The 1860 census recorded William Miley, widowed, painter, 30, with his son George, 12, and Rohame H., 8 [note: she is William's sister per her obituary]. Next door is William's mother, Lydia Miley, 40 [should be 50], living with son Hiram, butcher, 20; and Henrietta, 8 [note: she is William's daughter, per her marriage license.] Also in the home: William Culbertson, brick mason, 43; Nicholas Jigin, 35; and Jennie Lynn, 6. Everyone was born in Ohio except Lydia, Hiram and William Miley in Pennsylvania; Culbertson in Ireland; and Jigin in Switzerland. 2. Census in 1870 in Marion, Marion, OH. 6 The 1870 census recorded William Meiley, carriage painter, 43, living with wife Mary, 35; son George, painter, 22; daughter Henrietta, 18; daughter Clara, 16; son William, 7; and daughter Emma, 5. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania except Emma in Ohio. 3. Newspaper: Lebanon Daily News: MARRIED. MEILY-BEICHER. On the 11th inst. At the house of the bride's parents, George M. Meily, of Marion, Ohio, to Miss Annie Beicher, of this place., 15 Apr 1878, Lebanon, Lebanon, PA. 13 4. Newspaper: Marion Star: birth of daughter of George Miley and Anna Bicher, 19 Feb 1879, Marion, Marion, OH. 1 Mr. George Miley, the noted bucksin bass blower, or beater, of the Marion Silver Band, as a musician cannot be excelled. He was born June 28, 1848, and for a long time was contented and staid at home, until the centennial year, 1876, when he took in the great show at Philadelphia. On that trip he became acquainted with Miss Anna Bicher, of Lebanon, Pa. This lady, in his estimation, was the only girl on earth. He came home, but seemed to be in a discontented mood, and finally went back to Lebanon, and in April, 1878, was married to Miss Bicher. He then came home, bringing with him his better half; and last evening was made to rejoice, with thousands of the American people, at the arrival of a beautiful daughter, of the average weight, sound and perfect. This is the result of the Centennial, in George's case. And Mrs. Winslow has another customer for "Soothing Syrup." 5. The census columns record they were married for 22 years and Anna had birthed 4 children by 1900 and 3 were alive that year. George was born in Ohio, his father in Pennsylvania, and his mother in Germany. Anna was born in Ohio and her parents in Pennsylvania. Their children were bon in Ohio. 6. Residence: on 1 Jul 1902 in Marion, Marion, OH. 18 7. Census in 1910 in Marion, Marion, OH. 19 The 1910 census recorded at 529 South Prospect Street: George M. Meily, painter engineer, 60, living with wife Anna N., 55. There were married for 31 years and Anna had birthed 4 children by 1910, 3 alive that year.
