Good Shepherd United Methodist Church was the setting for the recent wedding of Judy Ann Balliet, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John S. Balliet, Sunken Heights, Bloomsburg, and Gary Robert Heddens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Heddens, Main Street, Catawissa.
The Rev. Luke J. Brinker officiated. Organist was Rue Davenport and soloist was Kathy Baylor. The bride chose a gown with a basque bodice and sheer bishop sleeves accented with appliques, pearls and lace. The full skirt swept into a chapel train. A reembroidered lace cap held a veil trimmed with scalloped lace. She carried a nosegay of white roses, blue and white carnations and baby's breath.
Jill Balliet, Bloomsburg, was maid of honor for her sister in a periwinkle blue chiffon gown with princess bodice, stand-up collar and lace sleeves. The full mockwrap skirt was accented with a silk flower.
Identically attired were bridesmaids Mary Jane Kobeski, Factoryville; Colleen Barndt of Frazer and Leisa Robbinson, Salisbury, Md. They carried nosegays similar to the bride and wore matching flower combs in their hair.
Best man was Robert Silver, Catawissa, Ushers were Rick Heddens, brother of the groom; Steve Adams, Carlisle and Lenny Butela, Catawissa.
A reception followed at the Danville Elks.
The bride is a graduate of Bloomsburg High School and the groom from Southern Columbia High School. Both are graduates of Bloomsburg University.
The groom is assistant manager of Woolworth's in Scranton. Prior to the marriage, the bride was employed at Nichol's Discount City, Bloomsburg.
After a honeymoon to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Clark's Summit.
