Magazine: South Carolina Historical Magazine: Sketch and Portrait of Alexander Moultrie, 1904, Charleston, Charleston, SC. 1 Alexander Moultrie, son of Dr. John Moultrie, the emigrant, by his second wife, was born about 1750; was admitted to the Middle Temple in 1768 and educated for the Bar; married May 24, 1772, Catherine Judith Lennox, daughter of James Lennox; was elected Attorney General of South Carolina upon the adoption of the Constitution of March 26, 1776; was elected to the House of Representatives of South Carolina from Charles Town (parishes of St. Philip and St. Michael) in 1778, and reelected in 1781.
