Newspaper: Evening News: Rush Lucille Beecher To Hospital After Leg Is Broken In Accident, 20 Aug 1929, Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA. 4 Crossing the street after seeing a girl companion to a trolley car, Lucille Beecher, about 15, of Philadelphia, was severely injured late this afternoon when she was struck by an automobile at Twenty-thrid and Market streets, Camp Hill.
Attaches of the Harrisburg Hospital, where she was taken following the accident, said the girl had suffered a fracture of the leg.
Miss Beecher, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick C. Beecher, formerly of Camp Hill, has been spending some time with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Lovell Harrison, 2212 Market street, Camp Hill.
The girl accompanying Miss Beecher boarded a street car for Harrisburg and Miss Beecher started to cross the street, according to witnesses. As she stepped from behind the street car she found herself in the path of an automobile coming from the direction of Harrisburg and was unable to get out of the way of the machine.
The impact threw the girl to the ground.
Dr. H. C. Lawton, in fron of whose home, at 2300 Market street, the accident occurred, was absent at the time of the accident, and the girl was rushed to the hospital by a motorist.
The driver of the car that struck the girl was Thomas C. Hamm, of Philadelphia.

The announcement was made yesterday at a party given by Mr. and Mrs. Beecher at their home.
Miss Beecher attended school in Camp HIll and Germantown. The wedding will take place in late Spring.
