Page 450: Abraham, called "the Black" speculated in land. He was twice married. His second wife survived him. He had over a dozen children, son and daughters, one of whom, Willoughby, is still living in the township.

Page 708: Abraham Knerr, son of Abraham, Jr., was born Nov. 26, 1775. He married, in 1795. Maria Hartman, and after her death married the second time. He was called "The Black," and speculated considerably in land. He had a large number of children, among them: Jonathan, born 1795; Benjamin, born 1798; Maria, born 1800; and Willoughby, whose daughter married Austin E. Bush, of Allentown.


Abraham married Maria Catharine Hartman, daughter of Peter Hartman Sr and Susanna Knerr, on 24 Mar 1795 in , Lehigh, PA.1 2 (Maria Catharine Hartman was born in Mar 1784.)
