Born Nov 3, 1905 in Bell Township, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Frederick C. and Olie Belle Guckenberger. A resident of Vanport for 47 years, she was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Beaver, and was a life member of Navy Mothers.

She was prceeded in death by her husband, Harold H. Beecher, in 1963; a son, Harold "Sonny" Beecher, in 1963; a daughter, Jeanne, and a grandson, Mark Anthony Pozzuto.

Surviving are two sons, Frederick L. Beecher, San Diego, Calif., and Charles N. Beecher, Virginia Beach, Va; three daughters, Lucy B. Miller, Pittsburgh; Julia A. Fellhour, Toledo, Ohio, and Laura G. "Dolly" Shie, Sterling, Va.; 18 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. in the J. T. Anderson and Son Funeral Home, 205 College Ave., Beaver. Her pastor, the Rev. Donald R. Thomas, will officiate. Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery.


Laura married Harold Harrington Beecher Sr., son of Charles Nevel Beecher and Nancy Lucy Harrington, in Jan 1925.
