1. Obituary: Pottsville Republican on 2 Dec 1943 in Pottsville, Schuylkill, PA. ⁵ Mrs. Laura Gibbons, nee Smith, wife of Raymond Gibbons, of Upper William Penn, died at her home there at 9:30 o'clock, Wednesday evening, after an illness of several months.
She was born and reared in William Penn, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith, and lived practically her life-time there. She was a member of the Methodist Church of William Penn.
To survive besides her husband, there are two daughters, Mrs. Ellen Spillane, of Cambridge, Md., and Miss Bertha at home; two sons, Raymond and Frederick, both in the U. S. Army. There are four sisters, Mrs, Jennie Ladley and Mrs. Ann Ladley, of Jenkintown; Mrs. Fannie Harper, Shenandoah; Mrs. Mildred Gruel, of Philadelphia; one brother, Leonard Smith, Shamokin; and a grandson.

Laura married Raymond E. Gibbons on 30 Nov 1911 in Shenandoah, Schuylkill, PA.¹ (Raymond E. Gibbons was born on 10 Apr 1892 in Shenandoah, Schuylkill, PA,² died on 20 Nov 1979 in Berlin, Camden, NJ ⁶ and was buried in Shenandoah Heights: Odd Fellows Cemetery, Schuylkill, PA ⁶.)
