Beecher, county sanitation dept., 38, living with wife Margarete A., 37; Darlene E., 13; Charles E., 8; and Linda M., 7, and John W., 5. Joseph was born in Arizona, Margarete in New York, and their children in California. Also in the home is Gary L. Riley, step son, 15, born in California.

Four-Girl Gang Held as Bandits

An all-girl gang of robbery suspects rounded up by detectives Friday has admitted at least six holdups, including one in Long Beach, police said.

Los Angeles Harbor Division Det. Sgt. Bob Kinsey said three of the suspects were arrested in a raid on a house at 136 N. Cabrillo Ave., San Pedro. The fourth, Kinsey said, surrendered later at police headquarters.

The four were identified as: Darlene E. Beecher, 28; Mrs. Susan Rae Keane, 24; Mrs. Rita L. Quarles, 20, and Helen Curriston, also 20, of 1413 McDonald Ave., Wilmington.

Sgt. Kinsey said the three women arrested in Pedro refused to talk. However, he said Miss Curriston admitted the holdups, implicating the others.

The gang's activities, Sgt. Kinsey said, included stickups in Wilmington, Los Angeles. Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Lawndale and the $50 robbery Wednesday night at Sam's Liquor Store, 530 W. Anaheim St., in Long Beach.

DETECTIVES said a car belonging to Mrs. Keane fits the description of one used in the robbery of a Lawndale liquor store. Mrs. Keane and Mrs. Quarles told police the Beecher woman had the car on the night the robbery occurred.

Miss Curriston, Sgt. Kinsey said, told detectives, "I pulled the jobs on a" dare. They called me chicken if I didn't."

Detectives said the suspects will be turned over to the Lennox sheriff's substation, since most of the robberies were in that area.
