Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

2. Obituary: Delco Times on 29 Jan 2008 in Chester, Delaware, PA. ¹ Norman E. Stehle, 89, of Glen Mills, died Jan. 21 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Pittsburgh, he grew up in the small town of Elizabeth. He graduated from Elizabeth High School in 1936 and from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1940 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation, he began his career in Civil Service at the Philadelphia Naval Base as an aeronautical engineer. During his 33 years there, he received many awards including two U.S. Patents for inventions relating to aircraft power units and starters.
Mr. Stehle married Claire Miller in 1947 and together they built their home in Glen Mills and raised four children. They also ran a successful evergreen nursery business for many years. After retiring in 1973, he devoted time to his family, nursery business and traveling to Florida and California.
His children N. Scott of Philadelphia, Carl of CA, Donna Rumford of Kennett Square and Karen Esterly of Glen Mills survive him. Two grandchildren Alex and Kacie Rumford of Kennett Square also survive him. His beloved wife, Claire, pre-deceased him in 2006.
