Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. 2. Obituary: Delco Times on 29 Jan 2008 in Chester, Delaware, PA. 1 Norman E. Stehle, 89, of Glen Mills, died Jan. 21 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Pittsburgh, he grew up in the small town of Elizabeth. He graduated from Elizabeth High School in 1936 and from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1940 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation, he began his career in Civil Service at the Philadelphia Naval Base as an aeronautical engineer. During his 33 years there, he received many awards including two U.S. Patents for inventions relating to aircraft power units and starters. Norman married Claire L. Miller, daughter of Harry Elmer Miller Sr. and Hazel M. Horrox, in 1947.1 (Claire L. Miller was born on 10 Jul 1919 in , , PA 6 7 and died on 24 Oct 2006 in West Grove, Chester, PA 7.) |
