Heywood, 81, of Allentown, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Joan M. (Latsha) Heywood. Born in Girardville, Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late Thomas B. and Grace (Davis) Heywood. A graduate of Girardville High School, Glenn attended Penn State University and Johns Hopkins University. He was employed by Mack Trucks Inc., Allentown, for almost 30 years before retiring in 1985 as an electrical drafts man supervisor. Glenn served his country in the Army Air Corps, he was a member and past deacon at Calvary Baptist Church, Allentown. He had served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Lehigh County and the Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank. Survivors: Sons, Keith T. Heywood and Blake A. Heywood, both of Allentown; brother, Thomas Heywood and his wife Peggy of Bath; sisters, Arlene Fee of Newton, N.J., Joan, wife of Lamar Schneff of Philadelphia; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Bradley D. Heywood, in 1954, a daughter, Gail L. Willenbecher in 1993, and a son, Brent G. Heywood, on April 25. Services: Memorial, 2 p.m. Thursday, Calvary Baptist Church, 4601 W. Tilghman St., Allentown. Call 1-2 p.m. Thursday in the church. Arrangements, J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
