He was born in Newville and was a son of the late William and Ruth Myers Donovan. He was a retired employee of Letterkenny Army Depot and was a member of Hays Grove United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Helen Ellerman Donovan; two daughters, Marjorie Donovan and Brenda J. Beecher, both of RD1, Newville; three sons, Robert M. Donovan, RD2, Shippensburg; William H. Donovan, RD1. Newville and Ronald E. Donovan, RD5, Newville; a sister, Grace Comp, RD1, Newville; three brothers, Lee Donovan and Gerald Donovan, both of RD1, Newville, and Merle Donovan, RD2, Shippensburg; and three grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Egger Funeral Home, 15 Big Spring Ave., Newville, with the Rev. Donald Hurley officiating. Burial will be in Hays Grove United Methodist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 117 N. Hanover St., Carlisle 17013.
