Hockenberry on 24 Sep 2009 in Chambersburg, Franklin, PA. 1 Mac H. Hockenberry, age 89, of Ft. Loudon, PA, died at his home on Tuesday, September 22, 2009. Born February 22, 1920 in Willow Hill, PA, he was the son of the late Frank Hockenberry and Almeda Doyle Hockenberry. A WWII veteran, Mr. Hockenberry was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1945. He was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot, where he later retired. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, especially Turkey hunting and Ginseng hunting, watching baseball, gardening, spending time with his family, and helping at the family shop. He was a member of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW post 1599, the American Legion post 561, and Orrstown Lodge No. 262 F.&.A.M. Mr. Hockenberry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marie A. Hockenberry, whom he married August 9, 1945; his children: Karen M. Helman of Ft. Loudon and Perry M. Hockenberry; his grandchildren Sheena and Brandon Hockenberry, Chris and Chad Beecher and Trey Helman; and his great grandchildren Destiny, Aubrey, Cole, Jade, Tyler, and Tyson. Mac was preceded in death by a son, Donald M. Hockenberry; a great granddaughter Sierra Beecher; and eleven siblings. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 11 AM at the Carrick United Methodist Church, 7003 Path Valley Rd., Fannettsburg, PA 17221, where the Rev. James Fox, Pastor Phil Foster, and Pastor John Semple will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, September 27 from 7-9 PM, where a Masonic service will be offered at 8:00 PM. Friends will also be received one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with Military honors being provided by the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW. If desired contributions may be made in Mac's name to the Carrick United Methodist church, PO Box 156, Spring Run, PA 17262. Arrangements are entrusted to Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, Dry Run, PA. Mac married Marie A. Dorer on 9 Aug 1945.1 2 (Marie A.
