I go to my Saviour, O sweet, happy thought,
Salvation for me with his life-blood he bought.
I go to be crowned with the angels on high,
For Jesus declared I shall live in the sky.
Then farewell to sorrow and farewell to pain;
Farewell -- ye shall never distress me again.
For in that blessed region all sorrow shall cease,
And nothing shall bloom but the rose of peace.
Our father Is sleeping, so free from all pain;
O, wake him not, sweet spirit, to suffer again.
He slumbers so soundly, O, let him sleep on;
His sickness is ended and troubles all gone.
O, think how he suffered and moaned with pain,
In the long night hours, as we soothed him in vain.
Till God In His mercy sent down from above
An angel that whispered a message of love.
By His Children
