Gene Beecher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Beecher, Ashland, Ohio, were married Saturday at 6 p. m. in the First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. C. R. Lee, pastor of the church, was the officiating clergyman. White bridal pedestals of white gladioli and pink carnations decorated the altar, was lighted by tapers in sevenb branch candelabra tied with white bows and ivy. White bows also marked the family pews. Music was provided by Miss Barbara Nichols, organist, and Miss Ruth Marie Eimer, Columbus, Ohio, vocalist. Miss Eimer sang, "I Love You Truly," (Bond); "0 Promise Me," (DeKoven); "Saviour, Like A Shepherd, Guide Us," hymn, and, during the ceremony, "Wedding Prayer," (Dunlap).
The traditional marches were played by the organist. For her wedding the bride was attired in a gown of Chantilly lace made with molded bodice, sequin and pearl trimmed sweetheart neckline and long sleeves tapering to bridal points. The full, hooped ruffled skirt was with a lace redingote-type overskirt and extended into a chapel train. Her elbow-length veil of English illusion cascaded from a tiara of pearls and iridescents. Carries Bouquet Her flowers were a cascade arrangement of white Butterfly roses, centered with a white cattalya orchid mounted on a white Bible.
A shower of satin sreamers tied in lover's knots fell from the bouquet. She was given in strong. marriage by her uncle, Carl Armstrong.
Miss Nancy Kortright, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a monta blue nylon chiffon over matching taffeta gown. The bridesmaid was Miss Kathy Cherry, Joliet, Ill., classmate of the bride.
The junior bridesmaid was Miss Jane Bowman, Greenville, Ohio, cousin of the bride. They were attired in powder blue nylon chiffon over matching taffeta. All attendants wore white gloves and small halo-type hats with veils to match their dresses. They carried wicker gathering baskets filled with marguerite daisies and Mayday rosettes. Clusters of satin loops interspersed the flowers.
Junior attendants were Rosemary Farmer, cousin of the bride, and Rodney Grim, Greenville, Ohio, also a cousin of the bride. The flower girl wore a white frock and halo hat tied with ribbon and carried a satin basket of rose petals which she scattered over the bridal aisle. Vernon Schwin, Ottumwa, Iowa, classmate of the bridegroom, was the best man. Ushers were Ron Tryon, Terre Haute, Ind., and Larry Knight, Hoopeston, Ill., students at Olivet Nazarene college, Kankakee, Ill. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Kortright wore a pink lace over matching taffeta dress with white accessories. Mrs. Beecher, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy dress with white accessories. Kortright's corsage was roses centered with a gardenia. Mrs. Beecher's corsage was of white carnations. Reception At YWCA A reception at the Young Women's Christian association (YWCA) followed the ceremony. Serving were Mrs. Wilbur Bowman, Mrs. Robert Grim, Greenville, Ohio; Miss Wanda Hoover, this city, and Miss Mary Krick, Shelbyville. They wore corsages of pink and white carnations. Serving tables, covered with white linen cloths, were decorated with blue candles in crystal holders. The bride's table held a three-tier wedding cake topped by a miniature bride and bridegroom and decorated with blue sugar. bells. White and blue bows surrounded the cake and punch bowl.
Following a wedding trip through Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Beecher will reside at 111 North Convent street, Bourbonnais, Ill. Mrs. Beecher traveled in a twopiece navy blue dress with white accessories.
Mrs. Beecher will graduate in August from Olivet Nazarene college in Kankakee, Ill., and will teach next autumn. Mr. Beecher is senior at Olivet college. He also is employed by General Foods corporation, Kankakee.

5. Obituary: Palladium-Item: obituary of Mrs. Gene Beecher on 19 Feb 1967 in Richmond, Wayne, IN. 6 Mrs. Gene Beecher Word was received here Saturday that Mrs. Phyllis J. Beecher, 26, of Custer Park, Ill., died Friday in Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago following a two-month illness. Mrs. Beecher was a native of Richmond and a member of the Church of the Nazarene here. She had been a teacher for three years in the high school at Braidwood, Ill. Survivors include her husband, Gene; one daughter, Michelle Lynn, at home; her mother, Mrs. Ida Kortright of Richmond; her father, James Kortright of Hagerstown; and one sister, Nancy, of Indianapolis. Services for Mrs. Beecher will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Patterson Funeral Home in Braidwood. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the Church of the Nazarene in Greenville, Ohio. However, there will be no services in Greenville. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fort Jefferson, Ohio.
