Born on May 16, 1919, in Chambersburg, he was a son of Mrs. Mary Burkholder Osterman, of 39 W. King St., and the late Alex Osterman. Mr. Osterman was a former member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, and a member of BPOE, No. 600. He served with Battery B of the 166th and the 939th Field Artillery in Africa, Sicily, Italy and France during World War II. At the time of his death he was employed by the U. S. Army Weapons Command at the Rock Island Arsenal, Davenport. He is a former Letterkenny Army Depot employe.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his widow, Mrs. Lois Baker Osterman; a daughter, Miss Alexis Ann Osterman, at home; four sisters: Mrs. John Remmel, 935 E. King St.; Mrs.
Ordean Summers, of Narberth; Mrs. Donald Webb, of Greensburg, and Mrs. George Cook, of Ithaca, N.Y.; two brothers, William Osterman, of Boston, Mass., and James Osterman, of Fayetteville. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with the Rev. Hubert J. McGuire as celebrant. Burial will be made in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sellers funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
