1. Obituary: The Gazette: obituary of John Haan on 21 Oct 1987 in Cedar Rapids, Linn, IA. ³ TOLEDO - John H. Haan, 67, died early Monday at his home in Toledo of an apparent heart attack. For many years he was food manager at the Marshalltown hospital. From 1962 to 1971 he owned and operated a restaurant in Vinton and from 1971 until retiring in 1982 he was office manager of Farm Service Co., Toledo. Surviving are his wife, Catherine; four sons, John of Des Moines, Gerald of Bettendorf, Thomas of Bellingham, Wash., and James of Iowa City; two daughters, Mary Fleenor of rural Marshalltown and Nancy Hill of Centerview, Mo.; his father, Henry Haan of Rock Rapids; a brother, Charles and a sister, Betty Menage, both of Rock Rapids; and six grandchildren.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mason-Hand's in Tama, where friends may call after noon today. Burial: 3 p.m. Friday, Holy Name Cemetery, Rock Rapids, with military honors.
