Obituary: The Plain Speaker on 13 Feb 1925 in Hazleton, Luzerne, PA, United States. 6 Henry Horrax, aged 79 years and two months, one of the best known residents of the North Side, died at 11 o'clock this morning at his home at Oakdale, following a long illness. He had been bedfast for the last three weeks. Mr. Horrax was born in England, but came to this country when quite young. He was a resident of Oakdale for fifty years. His wife preceded him in death in December.
Mr. Horrax was a member of the Diamond Methodist Episcopal church of this city.
Up to five years ago he was employed in the mines of the Jeddo Highland Coal Company but ill health forced his retirement. He is survived by four daughters and one son as follows: Mrs. Thomas Horn, of Jeddo, Mrs. Priscilla Renshaw, of Hazleton, Mrs. William Margwarth, of Oakdale and Mrs. Emma Anderson, a private nurse of this city and Harry Horrax, of Oakdale, with whom he made his home. One brother Samuel, of Saint Clair and one sister Mrs. Emma Mather, of Jeddo, also survive. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with services at the house conducted by Rev. Thomas F. Ripple, pastor of the Diamond M. E. Church. Burial will follow in the Freeland cemetery.
