MILTON - Hester M. (Bucher) Waltman passed away Monday, June 13, 2005, at Kramm Healthcare, Milton. She was born Dec. 25, 1907, in Milton, the daughter of the late John and Annetta (Frantz) Bucher.
In 1926 in Hagerstown, Md., she married Robert M. Waltman, who preceded her in death Sept. 21, 1975.
Hester was a 1925 graduate of Milton High School.
She was employed as a telephone operator for the Home Telephone Co. She later accepted a position as a legal secretary in the law offices of Ralph L. Belford and William W. Belford II, serving for 43 years.
Hester was a life member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Milton, where she taught a Sunday school class, was a member of the church choir and was a past president of the Lutheran Church Women.
She was a past president of the Business and Professional Women's Club, Milton; past president of the Milton Auxiliary to Evangelical Community Hospital; and a member of the Milton Historical Society, where she served as treasurer of the capital fund drive.
Hester is survived by numerous cousins.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 Mahoning Ave., Milton, where the funeral will follow at 11 with the Rev. Cheryl L. Berner officiating.
Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Milton. Contributions in Hester's memory may be made to the Memorial Day Flower Trust, 42 S. Front St., Milton, PA 17847. Arrangements are being handled by the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N.
Front St., Milton.
