NORTH UMBERLAND -- Trinity United Methodist Church was the setting on Sept. 9. for the wedding uniting Miss Susan L. Bucher and Thomas Bruce Bell in marriage. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Robert Kennedy at 2 p.m. Parents of the newlyweds are Mr. and Mrs. David E. Bucher, 1135 Duke St., and Mr. and Mrs. James Bell, 558 Front St. Given in marriage by her, parents, the bride wore a floor length empire styled gown of satin and chantilly lace with long lace, sleeves. Her floor length veil was of bridal illusion, and she carried a cascade of blue and white pompons and white rose buds.
The maid of honor, Tracy Hettfer of Sunbury, wore a floor length gown styled identically to that worn by the bride. It featured a light blue bodice and a blue flowered skirt. A white picture hat with blue ribbon completed her ensemble, and she carried a nosegay of blue and white pompons. Serving as the flower girl was Michele Bucher, sister of the bride, attired in a floor length gown designed like the maid of honor's gown. She carried a basket of blue and white pompons.
Jerry Aurand of Northumberland performed the duties of best man, and ushers were Jesse Wagner and Chester Bartholomew, both of Northumberland. Richard Heckert was the ring bearer, and the acolyte was Keith Harro of Selinsgrove, cousin of the bride. Providing appropriate music were Mrs. Nancy, Smith, organist, and Mrs. Lois Moore, vocalist. Both are residents of Northumberland.
Approximately 75 guests greeted the newlyweds in the social hall of the church following the ceremony.
After a wedding trip to the Poconos, the couple is living at 1135 Duke St.
Mrs. Bell, a 1972 graduate of Shikellamy High School, is employed at the Amity House, Sunbury. A 1970 graduate of the same high school, the bridegroom is serving with the U.S. Navy, stationed at the Naval Hospital, Philadelphia.

Northumberland - Thomas B. Bell, 68 of North Ave. passed away Friday, June 21, 2019 in Lycoming County while on a fishing trip doing what he loved most.
Tom was born January 23, 1951 a son of the late James P. and A. Allethea (Attinger) Bell. On September 9, 1972 he married the former Susan L. Bucher who survives.
He was a graduate of Shikellamy High School.
Mr. Bell served in the Navy entering on August 11, 1970 and was honorably discharged on August 9, 1974. He was employed as a physician assistant with the Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary eventually retiring from the Allenwood Federal Penitentiary. As an avid outdoorsman, Tom enjoyed fishing and tending his vegetable garden. He had a love for woodworking and was a dedicated Penn State Football fan.
In addition to his wife of 46 years, Tom is survived by, his son Richard Bell, daughter, Lisa Straub, four grandchildren, Alexis Kline, Nathan Kline, Stella Bell and Oliver Bell, and two sisters, Barbara Hollis and Judy Brittingham.
Friends and family are invited to a graveside service at noon, Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington with Rev. Joan Dodson officiating.
Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland.
