1. He signed a will on 18 Jan 1822 in Mount Pleasant Twp., Adams, PA. Will of William Kline
In the name of God Amen I William Kline of Mount Pleasant Township, Adams County and State of Pennsylvania make ordain & declare this instrument my last Will & Testament revoking all others Imprimis I will order and direct that just debts & funeral charges be paid by my Executors hereinafter named Item, To my beloved wife Catharine Kline I give & bequeath one bed & Bedstead & all the bed cloathes thereto belonging, one milch cow are spinning Wheel, ( all of which Shall be of her own choosing ) and also the Interest of all the money arising out of the sale of all my property real and personal, as is hereinafter directed. Item, After the death of my said wife Catharine it is my will that all the money arising from the sale of my property real and personal shall be divided equally to & among my Children Except such of them as have already received money in advance. Item, Whereas I have heretofore advanced fifty three pounds to my Son Joseph Kline and am Liable for Eighty dollars and Interest on the same for my said son Joseph, at the Bank of Gettysburg which Several sums shall be in full of his share of my Estate real and personal And whereas I have advanced to my son John Kline Sixty three dollars which shall be on part of his Legacy; Therefore it is my will that the rest of my children viz my son Andrew Kline and my daughters Elizabeth (intermarried with John Becher), Mary Kline, Catharine (intermarried with Jacob Staub), Susan Kline, Abilonia Kline and Anna Kline Shall have a like sum of sixty three dollars each, any money remaining after the above sums are paid, Shall be equally divided to and among my aforesaid Children that is to say, to my son John Kline, Andrew Kline and my daughters Elizabeth (intermarried with John Becher), Mary Kline, Catharine (intermarried with John Staub), Susan Kline, Abilonia Kline & Anna Kline, Share & Share alike and to each of their heirs or assigns. Item, As soon as my Executors shall deem it expedient it is my will that my real Estate be sold by my Executors for the best price that may be had for the same Hereby giving full power to my said Executors, his or their Executors or administrators, or the survivor of him or them to convey by Deed or otherwise all my real property which I may be possessed of at the time of my decease, to the purchaser or purchasers his her or their heirs and assigns forever, in as full and ample a manner as I myself could do, if I were then present. Lastly I constitute and appoint Joseph Hill senr and my beloved wife Catherine Kline Executors of this my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 18th day of January A.D. one thousand eight hundred and twenty two.
