Noted events in his life were: 1. Court: Dauphin County Orphan's Court on 8 Dec 1815 in Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA. 1 December 8, 1815 - The petition of Catharine Mertz, late Catharine Haman, one of the daughters o George Haman, late of Lebanon township in the county of Lebanon, Yeoman, Deceased, was presented, setting forth that said petitioner is a minor above the age of fourteen years, and hath no guardian appined to care for her person and estate; therefore praying leave to choose some person for the aforesaid purpose. Which being granted, the peitioner chose her husband, John Mertz, as her guardian , of whom the court approve. John married Catharine Hamman, daughter of George Hamman and Susannah Knauss. (Catharine Hamman was born on 16 Apr 1797 in Zionsville, Lehigh, PA, United States and was christened on 12 May 1797 in Zionsville, Lehigh, PA, United States.) |
