They are visiting Petty Officer 3/c Donald Beecher, a radio technician stationed at the Navy Pier. Mr. and Mrs. Beecher will visit relatives in Cleveland before returning home. Mrs. Donald Beecher will remain in Chicago for two weeks as her husband, Petty Officer Beecher, will have leave before reporting to Shoemaker, Calif., for further assignment.

She was born Aug. 8, 1920 in Erie, Pa. Before her marriage, Catherine was an executive secretary at Lord Manufacturing in Erie, Pa., and was very active there in the life of the Elmwood United Presbyterian Church. She was very devoted to her family and got great satisfaction from volunteering at Medina Hospital for over 30 years. She loved getting together with her friends, sewing, gardening, reading, current events, nature and birds. She also enjoyed traveling to China, England and Mexico. She will always be remembered for her unselfish way and caring for others.
She was the beloved mother of Karen Drake, Cathy Hall and Susan (John) Petre; loving grandmother of Jay (Tracy) Wagner, Christin (Craig) Burd, Marc (Mary) Petre and Michael Petre; great-grandmother of Ashley Wagner, Tessa Petre and Emma Petre. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J.; parents, Harvey and Eileen McLaughlin; sisters, Marion Honard and Jeanne Strohmeyer; and brother, Arthur McLaughlin.
Services will be held Thursday, 11:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 116 E. Boyer St., Wadsworth, Rev. Jonathan Rumburg will officiate. Burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Christian Church.

Catherine married Donald J. Beecher, son of John Joseph Beecher and Ruby M. Chadbourne, about 1942. (Donald J.
