7. Obituary: Lodi News-Sentinel: obituary of Henry Herman Schwarzman on 16 Aug 1978 in Lodi, San Joaquin, CA. 1 Henry Herman Schwarzman, 79, of 17251 Tretheway Road, Lockeford, died late Tuesday morning in a local hospital following an extended illness.
He was born in Defiance, Ohio. In 1912, following the death of his father, he came with his family to California and settled in Lemoncove, Tulare county.
He later moved to Visalia where he operated an auto repair shop and for several years owned and operated the Packard Automobile Agency.
In 1924 he married Reolla M. Ege in Visalia. In 1942 where he became chief maintenance man at Sharp's Army Depot. He was later employed the Stockton Unified School District as head custodian at Madison School.
He retired in 1965. In 1973 they moved to Lodi.
He was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Frist Christian Church in Stockton, the SIRS Club in Lodi, and was a past member of the Visalia Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Reolla M. Schwarzman of Lockeford; three daughters, Beverly Hoskins of Fresno, Claire Jones of Stockton, and Kay Vanderlans of Lodi; and 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is preceeded in death by a brother and sister.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Cherokee Memorial Park with Rev. Paul L. Davidson of the First Christian church of Stockton officiating.
Friends may call at the Lodi Funeral Home after 12 p.m. today and until 9 a.m. Friday, and are invited to attend the graveside services.
