He was an Army veteran of World War II and did criminal investigation work for the Army in Europe for six years.

Survivors: Wife; sons, David E. Sr. of Allentown and Barry R. of Bethlehem; daughter, Denise, and sister, Arlene, both of Allentown; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
