Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

2. Census in 1930 in Allentown, Lehigh, PA. ¹² The 1930 census recorded renting a home at at 108 North 8th Street: John C. Kistler, physician, 35, living with wife Florence M., 38; stepdaughter Betty J. Stem, 16; and mother-in-law Matilda Shaffer, 64. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania, except Matilda's parents were born in Germany.

3. Census in 1940 in Allentown, Lehigh, PA. ⁹ The 1940 census recorded owning a $9300 home at 108 North 8th Street: John Kistler, medical doctor private practice, 46, living with wife Florence, 48; and mother-in-law Mateldro Schaffer, 75. They were all born in Pennsylvania and lived in the same house in 1935.

5. Obituary: Morning Call on 6 Aug 1977 in Allentown, Lehigh, Pennsylvania, United States. ¹⁰ Dr. John Kistler, retired physician Dr. John C. Kistler, 83, formerly of 3010 Pennsylvania St., Allentown, died Friday at 2940 Livingston St., Allentown, in the home of his daughter, Betty Jane Bury, with whom he resided. He was the husband of the late Florence M. (Shaffer) Kistler. He maintained an office for the general practice of medicine at 108 N. 8th St., Allentown, and later in his residence for 55 years until retiring in 1974. Born in Lansford, he was a son of the late Dr. Grant and Rosi (Heintzelman) Kistler.
Kistler attended Lafayette College, Easton, and graduated from Hahnemann Medical College, Philadelphia, in 1921. He served as president of Allentown State Hospital board of trustees 1948-55. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown. Surviving besides his daughter are two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown. There will be no calling hours. The J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 1601 Hamilton St., Allentown, is in charge of arrangements.

John married Florence M. Shaffer, daughter of Charles J. Shaffer and Matilda "Tillie" Polk, on 14 Aug 1926 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA.¹ (Florence M.
