Moyer, 90, of 328 Stricklerstown Road, Newmanstown, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. He was the husband of Mary K. Erb Moyer, with whom he was married to for 56 years. He was born April 8, 1918, in Port Clinton, Pa., a son of the late Charles and Minnie Rhodes Moyer. John was self-employed poultry farmer, and also worked part time in his barber shop. He was a member of the Millcreek Rod and Gun Club, Newmanstown Athletic Association, and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. Surviving in addition to his wife are children John R., husband of Linda K. Moyer of Newmanstown, Donald C., husband of Kim M. Moyer of New Hampshire, Kevin G., husband of LInda K. Moyer of Womelsdorf, Carol A. Bicher, companion of Michael Hess of Jonestown; grandchildren Dana, Daniel, Jonelle, Cameron, Arthur, Shannon, Tiffany, Erik, Erin, Nathan, Zane, Roya and Isaac; seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Memorial service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Clauser Funeral Home, North Carpenter Street, Schaefferstown, with a visitation beginning on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be made in the Millbach Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Millcreek Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 399, Newmanstown, PA 17073.
