Garlick Jr., who were united in marriage on June 9, are now residing on 305 East Crawford Ave. The bride is the daughter of Kenneth T. Beecher of 1117 Oak St. and the late Mrs. Beecher. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. Garlick of 1802 First St., South Connellsville.
The marriage was solemnized at 4 p.m. in Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, East Fairview Ave., by the Rev. H. Wahl Pfeifer, pastor.
Vows were exchanged before the altar which was decorated with palms, ferns and white carnations. White bows marked the pews.
A cousin of the bride, Mr. Jamie Graham of Pittsburgh, was the guest organist. The vocalist, Victor Shartzer, sang "Color My World," "Speak Softly, Love" and "The Lord's Prayer."
Miss Jean Anne Beecher of Johnstown was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Penny Lynn Garlick, sister of the bridegroom; Miss Patricia Stoner, a college roommate of the bride, and Mrs. John A Lewellen of Alexandria, Va.
Serving as the best man was John A. Lewellen of Alexandria. Ushers were Alan Percy, Gary Laber, a college roommate of the bridegroom, and Mike Basinger.
After the ceremony a reception for one-hundred seventy-five guests was held at Villa Nepa's, Limestone Hill, hosted by the bride's father. A buffet dinner was served. Music was provided by Lou and the Variety Five.
The newlyweds spent a brief honeymoon in Pittsburgh.
Both were graduated from Connellsville Area High School with Class of 1968. The bride was also graduated from Slippery Rock State College in 1972, where she majored in health and physical education. She is now a clinical instructor at the Diagnostic Reading Clinic, Connellsville Area School District.
The bridgegroom was graduated form Indiana University of Pennsylvania with Class of 1973, where he received a B.S. degree in education. He is now employed by Ray Garlick Construction. Mr. Garlick is also a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Parents of the bridegroom hosted the rehearsal dinner on the eve of the wedding at their home. A shower was given by the bridal attendants at the home of the bride's father.
