POLO -- Graveside service for Leon F. Beecher, a former Polo resident who died in Mount Vernon, Wash., Thursday, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Fairmount Cemetery.
Rev. Lowell Allen, pastor of Polo Methodist Church, will officiate. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Brown-Seidel Funeral Home, Polo.
He was born in Washburn on Jan. 1, 1898, son of George and Susan (Wagner) Beecher. He married the former Vivian Powelll of Polo in 1928. She died in 1961.
Surviving are his second wife, Agnes; two sons, Fred of Bettendorf, Iowa; Bert of Carpentersville; six grandchildren; a brother, Hal of Yakima, Wash; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Simkins, Mrs. Harry Parker, Mrs. Alder Sams, and Mrs. Harold Wells, all of Mount Vernon.
Mr. Beecher was a World War I veteran.


Leon married Vivan May Powell, daughter of Bert M. Powell and Eldora May Coursey, in 1928 in Polo, Ogle, IL.1 (Vivan May Powell was born on 20 Oct 1907 in , , IL,17 died on 14 Aug 1961 in Mount Vernon, Skagit, WA 1 17 and was buried in Polo: Fairmount Cemetery, Ogle, IL 17.)


Leon next married Agnes.
