5. Obituary: Muncie Star; obituary of Clarence McCleery on 5 Jul 1985 in Muncie, Delaware, IN. EATON -- Clarence (Ted) McCleery, 67, 407 E. North St., died Thursday morning in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, after a brief illness. He was born in Hazelton and had lived in Hartford City and Muncie before moving to Eaton. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. McCleery retired from Warner Gear Division in Muncie in 1980. He was a member of First Christian Church in Eaton, Moose Lodge 225 in Hartford City, United Auto Workers Local 287 in Muncie, Eaton Lodge 606, F&AM, and Warner Gear Sympathy Club. He was past associate guardian of Job's Daughters Bethel 93.

His wife, Betty, died in March, 1983.

Surviving are five sisters, Ocie Blocher, Dorothy Herbst and Velma Grogg, all of Fort Wayne, Vera Hunnicutt, Warren, and Wilma Krouse, Hicksville, Ohio; two nieces, Sandy Cross and Sherri Joslin, both of Eaton, and several other nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, with Rev. Lloyd Kincaid of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 9 p.m. today and before services Saturday. Masonic Memorial services will be 7 o'clock tonight in the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
