Saley [sic], 76 years old, died of heart failure yesterday afternoon at 4:45 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. A. Singer, of 617 Cameron Avenue. She had been in declining health for some time and death was not unexpected.
Mrs. Saley was born in Davidson County and had resided in Winston-Salem with Mrs. Singer for two years.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Singer, Mrs. L. J. Poole; one brother, Jason Rowe, of Lexington; seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be announced later.

Services Will Be Conducted at Home and at Center Hill Church

The funeral of Mrs. Martha E. Staley, age 76, who died Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. A. Swing, 617 Cameron Avenue, will be held Saturday with a short service at the home of the daughter at noon, and at Center Hill Baptist Church, Davidson County, at 3 o'clock. Rev. S. W. Hahn, and Rev. L. C. Smith will officiate at the services at the home, and the services at the church will be conducted by Rev. Mr. Smith, and Rev. R. D. Sigmon. Burial will be in the church graveyard.
Mrs. Staley had been in declining health for some time and death was not unexpected.
The deceased came to Winston-Salem four years ago from Davidson County and made her home with her daughter. She was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C. A. Swing, and Mrs. J. L. Poole, both of this city; two sisters, Miss Mary Rowe and Mrs. Mandy Styers, of Lexington; one brother, Jason Rowe; and 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
