Sgt. William G. Barber, 54, died in Oberammergau, Germany, Oct. 3.
His wife, a teacher at Union Hill School, lives at 916 Ferndale Boulevard. He was a major in the U. S. Army Reserve from 1952 until 1959, serving in the Korean conflict. In 1959 he re-enlisted as a private in the Army.
Funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Murray Funeral Chapel in Greensboro. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery will full military honors.

William married Pauline Helen Beeker, daughter of Thomas Jefferson Beeker Sr. and Annie M. Leonard, on 3 Jan 1927 in Kernersville, Forsyth, NC, USA.^{1 2} The marriage ended in divorce.
