Gene Austin Beeker of Jamestown, brother of Ed Beeker of Durham, died yesterday after an extended illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. tomorrow at Stanly Memorial Chapel in Albemarle. Conducting will be the Rev. Blair Reed. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park.
Also surviving are his father, Claude C. Beeker of Concord; four sons, Scott Beeker and John Beeker, both of Charlotte, Mark Beeker and Bob Beeker, both of Concord; another brother, Claude Beeker Jr. of Concord and a sister Mrs. W.K. Wilson of Albemarle.


Gene married Betty Jean Kluttz, daughter of Adam Ross Kluttz and Mary Lucille Hickman, on 28 Jul 1951 in Concord, Cabarrus, NC, USA.1 2 The marriage ended in divorce on 17 May 1978.
