Funeral service for Mrs. Viola Richardson Beeker, age 78, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 10:30 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Barrett Holloway will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Mrs. Beeker passed away on Monday, February 23, 2009 at her residence. She was born on June 23, 1930 in Salisbury, North Carolina to Homer Lloyd Richardson and Pearl Stewart Richardson. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Dadeville. She was an avid bowler for over 30 years and bowled in several leagues. She was a very good artist and enjoyed doing needle crafts.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Turner Beeker of Alexander City; daughter, Linda Stiff and husband Gary of Notasulga; sons, Mike Beeker and wife Judy of Saraland and Pete Beeker of Dadeville; grandchildren, Lori Taunton, Jason Stiff, Damon Stiff, Jennifer Powell, Beth Jones, Megan Lewis, Ben Beeker and Dan Beeker; great grandchildren, Leanne Taunton, Andrew Taunton, Brittney Stiff, Seleta Lawrence, Ali Stiff, Devin Stiff, Caroline Powell, Keeley Powell, Nathan Jones and Wesley Lewis; sister, Ruby Williams of Lexington, NC; nieces and nephews, Ronnie and Mary Caldwell, Steven and Janice Havner and Robin Havner.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
