The Franciscan Chapel Center in Tokyo, Japan, was the setting for the 12 noon June 22 marriage of Mary Kay Beicher and Marine Sgt. James M. Howland. Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. P. Stewart Beicher, 2200 Washington Ave., and Mr. and Mrs. George D. Howland, Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.
In the absence of her father, the bride was given in marriage by the Honorable U. Alexis Johnson, U.S. Ambassador to Japan. The bride's floor-length white satin gown was trimmed white lace daisies. A white| satin bow held her veil, also trimmed in daisies.
Bonnie Sue Woydziak of Claflin, Kansas, attended the bride. She wore a floor-length yellow crepe dress. A matching bow formed her headpiece. Best man was Marine Sgt. Donald F. Perry.
Guests were seated by Marine sergeants John R. Davis and John G. Fay. A reception at the Grew House Lounge in Tokyo honored the couple.
They took a wedding trip to Mount Fuji. The couple will make their home after Aug. 1 in Camp Pendleton, Calif., where the bridegroom will be stationed with the 5th Marine Division. Prior to her marriage, the bride attended St. Louis University in St. Louis, Mo., and was secretary in Ambassador Johnson's office in the American Embassy in Tokyo. The bridegroom, who attended Harbor College in Los Angeles, served with the U.S. Marine Security Guard detachment at the Embassy.
