He graduated from Academy High School and served two years in the United States Army, stationed in Berlin, Germany. Ron was a retired Master Plumber, and in his spare time, enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and gardening.
Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jessie; one daughter, Cynthia Johannes-Beecher (David) of York, Pa.; one step-grandson, Alex Beecher of Alexandria, Va.; one brother, Gilbert; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to the Funeral Mass at St. Jude R. C. Church, 2801 West 6th Street, Erie, PA 16505, on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie, PO Box 3605, Erie, PA 16508.
