Dorothy E. Heffelfinger, 96, a former city resident and craft store owner, died April 14 at 10:45 a.m. in Mifflin Center, Cumru Township, where she had been a resident since July 7, 2005. Her husband, W. Jack Heffelfinger, died Dec. 19, 1991.
Born in York, she was a daughter of the late Jay W. and Anna E. (Minel) Staub.
Heffelfinger was owner-operator of The Arts & Crafts Shop of Reading from 1953 until her retirement in 1994. She was also president of Heffelfinger's Arts and Crafts Inc. from 1976-94.
During her working career, Heffelfinger also was employed as a department manager by S. S. Kresge's; a master cigar wrapper by Eisenloah and Yocum Brothers; a lens inspec- tor by Willson Safety Products Inc.; and a technical paint consultant by Devoe Reynolds Inc.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reading.
Surviving is a son, Jack W., Reading.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Gallman-Sonoski Funeral Home Inc., Temple. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.


Lewis married Anna Emily Meinel, daughter of Harry George Meinel and Keziah Alverta Beecher, on 3 Jan 1916 in York, York, PA.1 (Anna Emily Meinel was born on 28 Jan 1891 in Seven Valleys, York, PA 9 10, christened on 26 Mar 1894 in Glen Rock: Emmanuel United Methodist Church, York, PA 10 and died on 8 Oct 1978 in Bern Twp., Berks, PA.)
