John D. Overleese, 91, of Arlington, retired well driller, died at 7:45 p.m. Sunday in the Jackson Nursing Home where he had been residing for three months. An Arlington resident for 65 years, Mr. Overleese was in the well-drilling business for 50 years before retiring. He also formerly operated the Arlington Gas Company for many years and was a member of the IOOF Lodge there. The son of George M. and Viola Miller Overleese, he was born in Dallas, Texas, on September 7, 1879, and was married January 6, 1901, to Abigail Beher, who died in 1921. Mr. Overleese's parents died when he was very young and he was reared in Rush County by Mr. and Mrs John Demmer. Surviving are three sons, Ruhlin Overleese, R. R. 6, and Raymond and Thurlow Over- leese, both at home; a grandson, Dallas Overleese of Circleville, four great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. A son, Earl, died in 1919. The Rev. Rick Branson will conduct services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Todd Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday, with burial in Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
